Sensitization on Sanitization and Community Health for Sustainable development
We sensitized Rumuchorlu Community in Rivers State on 16th & 17th May, 2014 on sanitation –
We paid a courtesy visit on the King of the Community – HRH, Eze (Sir) B.A. Worgu (JP), Eze Chorlu VII – and other opinion leaders. This was followed by community awareness campaign and mobilization of the natives for a general clean-up exercise. A total of 21 households were interviewed, we gathered that the prevalent diseases in the community were malaria fever and typhoid fever. The team worked with the opinion leaders to identify strategic persons in the community that were inaugurated as change agents for sustainability of the sanitation initiative by WASARD.
- WASARD provides Vaccine for children, example : Durumi IDP’s Camp, Abuja in Mar., 2015– As a follow-up to the curtesy visit, we saw the need to provide vaccine for some newly born kids in the Camp, hence we facilitated the vaccination of 2 kids of 7 months and 4 months old.
- WASARD Supporting Community Health for Sustainable Development at Chief Palace, Wumba, Abuja, held on World Health Day on Depression on 7th April, 2017– WASARD in collaboration with Primary Health Care facility at Wumba organized a seminar for 120 residents of the community and provided counselling and free blood pressure testing and referral to the PHC for further health service.
